Geraldine & Eddie

We welcome Geraldine & Edie to mother earth , She is fighting for her son Eddie who suffers from epilepsy.

I’ve decided to write a personal blog hoping to get everyone’s support. I’m trying to fight for my son and thousands of other children out there that have epilepsy. At the moment cannabis oil is all over the media so I thought I would give you our story. Eddie was born in September 2011, 11 week early, he had a bleed on his brain that left cysts, although I knew there was some amount of brain damage he seemed to progress well. On the 17th of June 2012 Eddie had a seizure, he was rushed to hospital where he was sedated, once he came round from sedation he had another then another, the hospital started him on medication to control them but it wasn’t successful straight away. On that day we lost the Eddie we knew, all the progress he had made over the 9 months were gone and he was reduced back to being a newborn baby. He was put on some different medication and although he was still having seizures they wasn’t as aggressive or severe. Since then we have had lots of different medication, some with horrible side affects so we had to try different ones, at the moment he’s on 2 different ones and still not seizure free, February this year Eddie was declining bad and seizures were worse again so I decided to try CBD oil, as my only other options were to increase what he was already on or add a 3rd medication, I didn’t really want to do either. Since starting the oil we have managed to reduce the seizures again not only that we have managed to reduce one of his medications, clobazam which is a sedative. We still are not seizure free but development wise Eddie is doing things he’s never done, everyone that knows him has seen a great improvement in his every day wellbeing. If the government agreed to legalise CBD oil we could go even further, I would be hoping to get Eddie off or be on very little pharmaceutical drugs and solely on CBD, I know everyone has their own opinion on this but it’s not been taken lightly, In my opinion it’s our only choice as Edd
