BATHING IN CANNABIS WITH CBD BATH BOMBS! GREAT FOR FIBROMYALGIA AND IMPROVING SLEEP

The most common symptoms of fibromyalgia include chronic muscle pain, trigger points (tender points), and chronic fatigue, as well as headaches, anxiety, insomnia, and digestive problems. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this painful condition so far, but there are effective ways to relieve its signs and symptoms. Apparently, fibromyalgia sufferers can benefit a lot from scented CBD bath bombs. CBD, or cannabidiol, is derived from the hemp plant. It offers a myriad of health benefits and does not produce any psychoactive effects. The findings of a study conducted on medical cannabis by Laura M. Borgelt, Kari Lanette Franson, and Abraham M. Nussbaum showed that it relieves pain and muscle aches. According to preliminary research, these are some of the benefits of CBD: It treats anxiety Fights inflammation Treats acne Reduces nicotine cravings Treats epilepsy Slows the progression of Alzheimer’s disease When it comes to its effects in the treatment of fibromyalgia, according to Very Well Health: “A 2017 paper published in Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets suggested CBD as a possible way to diminish the activity of brain cells called glia, which leads to central sensitization. That’s a major feature of fibromyalgia and other central sensitivity syndromes such as chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, and migraine. Fibromyalgia also involves something called endocannabinoid deficiency. That’s the system that deals with your body’s natural endocannabinoids as well as cannabis products that you may take in. That makes cannabis products a promising treatment. A 2016 review published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research found evidence that CBD is effective in migraine and irritable bowel syndrome, which are related to fibromyalgia. It also stated that some cannabis-based treatments appeared effective for fibromyalgia. The authors stated that CBD is often preferable to patients due to the high and other effects associated with THC. Several studies have suggested that CBD can fight inflammation. Fibromyalgia isn’t currently classified as an inflammatory condition, but research suggests that at least some cases may involve inflammation of a body-wide web of connective tissue called the fascia.” Before purchasing a CBD product, make sure you do some research. Buy it within the country, where products are closely regulated and standardized, and make sure it has a certificate of analysis (COA), which lists the CBD and THC content. Moreover, you should know that “hemp oil” is lower in cannabidiol than “CBD oil” so it is not as effective. Now, here is how to make these DIY CBD bath bombs: Ingredients: 100mg CBD oil 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1/2 cup Epsom salt 1/2 cup corn starch 1 cup baking soda 1/2 cup citric acid 1 teaspoon water Natural food coloring (optional) 30-40 drops of lavender essential oil (optional) Instructions: In a large bowl, whisk corn starch, baking soda, citric acid, and Epsom salt. In another bowl, mix the CBD oil, water, coconut oil, and essential oils and food coloring. Then, add this mixture to the first one. Mix well, and mold the mixture with the bath bomb mold. Leave them to dry for at least 24 hours. Then, add one to your warm, soothing bath, and enjoy! American Bar Association Endorses Ending Marijuana Prohibition

The American Bar Association (ABA) has passed a resolution in support of ending federal marijuana prohibition and removing the substance from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

In language that does not mince words, the proposal readsFURTHER RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges Congress to enact legislation to remove marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act

Commenting on the passage of the resolution, NORML Legal Counsel Keith Stroup said “As a young lawyer, I started NORML in 1970 because the legal case needed to be made that the criminalization of marijuana was wrong, and activist lawyers have always played a key role in the expansion of the NORML network across the country. The approval of this recent motion by the ABA, which calls for marijuana to be removed from the Controlled Substances Act altogether, is welcome vindication of the efforts of NORML and all the attorneys who fought against this unjust prohibition for the past fifty years.”

There are various pieces of legislation pending in Congress that would remove marijuana from the CSA, including a bill that was recently introduced by the House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler entitled The Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement Act.

Another paper, this time looking at public policy with respect to “medical” and”recreational” use of cannabis in Oregon, USA,

despite its obvious bias towards the USA, the paper has relevance since it is almost inevitable that, following a no deal brexit, we will have even closer trading ties with the USA, this WILL shape UK drug policy in the future as the US will most likely insist on unilateral compliance with their trading model before trading commences.

…..Great to see the BBC presenting a balanced view on CBD, especially from a consumer’s perspective. However, it is crucial to state the law as it is; the legal limit for THC in finished product is NOT 1mg as stated in the documentary.

A Safety, Efficacy and Tolerability Study of Sativex for the Treatment of Spasticity in Children Aged 8 to 18 Years

Detailed Description:

A 12 week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled,parallel group study followed by a 24-week open-label extension phase.

The primary objective is to assess the efficacy of Sativex treatment using a spasticity 0-10 numerical rating scale (NRS). The endpoint for analysis is the comparison between Sativex and placebo in the change from baseline to the end of the acute phase in mean spasticity 0-10 NRS scores (week 12 or last seven days prior to withdrawal).

The secondary objectives are to assess the safety and tolerability of Sativex via volunteered adverse events, laboratory parameters and vital signs. The efficacy of Sativex compared to placebo is also investigated for the following outcomes: spasticity (modified tardieu scale (MTS) score of the most affected limb and the modified ashworth scale (MAS) score of the main muscle groups of the upper and lower limb), sleep quality (sleep 0-10 NRS), pain (paediatric pain profile [PPP]), quality of life (of both the participant and the caregiver; cerebral palsy quality of life (QOL) questionnaire and caregiver QOL questionnaire), comfort (comfort questionnaire), depression assessment (childrens depression inventory (CDI 2)) and the caregiver’s global impression of change (CGIC).

Inhaled Cannabis Versus Fentanyl Buccal Tablets for Management of Breakthrough Pain in Cancer Patients

Brief Summary:Breakthrough cancer pain (BTcP) is a rapid onset, high intensity and short duration pain episode, which takes place within a stable background pain control. It significantly affects the quality of life of oncologic patients and their ability to function normally. Rapid onset opioids are the standard treatment for BTcP, and the various fentanyl transmucosal formulations (FTF) are among the best examples of these treatments. However, the limited availability, the high cost, the complicated titration and the high risks of overdosing of FTF greatly challenge their use. In order to seek a potential alternative to FTF, the investigators are proposing to compare inhaled medical cannabis (PPP001) to FBT or placebo on relieving BTcP intensity in cancer patients.
